Birchbox June 2017

Finally, Birchbox got it right.  I like the fact that there wasn’t a theme. No sun or beach items. Solid products I can use all year round. The monthly subscription is just $10, so I got more than my money’s worth.

Earth’s Nectar Coconut Curls

Coconut and almond oil conditioner and heat protectant. Full-size $23.50

The Beauty Crop Blush Duo. Color: Papaya Don’t Preach. Full-size $10

Marcelle Hydra-C 24 Hour Energizing Hydrating Gel. Full-size $27

Mellow Cosmetics Liquid Lip Paint. Color: New York. Full-size $14

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair serum. Full-size $65

This is one of my favorite products that I’ve only been able to get in travel or gift packages. I love it as I do all Estee Lauder products.  This serum has a consistency like aloe vera, and it works.

Birchbox-May 2017

My May Birchbox had some familiar favorites and a surprise.

I’ve received several Coola products in my monthly subscription boxes. They always work great, so I look forward to using this sunscreen/primer. Full-size $42

I’ve used Whish body cream before and it smells luscious, but the sample tubes don’t have enough product to see if it works. This cream is supposed to help stretch marks and scars. Full-size $36

I don’t know why Birchbox keeps sending me hair products I can’t use. Full-size $24

I’m excited about this mascara by The Beauty Crop. Not only is the packaging adorable, but the mascara has argan and jojoba oils in it. Full-size $22

This perfume is described as sophisticated and glamorous with notes of sandalwood and jasmine. I call it heaven. Full-size $105.

Stay blessed,

Birchbox -April 2017

I’m a little late with this Birchbox review for April but I think it was worth the wait. I received five items in my monthly subscription box and all for $10.

Dr. Jart’s Cicapair Tiger Grass Cream is described as healing and calming for the skin. According to the box, you apply it to your face and let the warmth of your hands help the skin absorb the cream. Full-Size $48

Number 4 Jour D’Automne Sugar Texturizing Spray. This didn’t work well on my hair. But if you like salt texturizing spray, this is supposed to be gentler. Full-Size $22

This is a Michael Todd blue-green algae antibacterial toner. It should be good removing sweat and oil from your face and neck after a good workout. Full-Size $19

Amika hair products work like magic on my hair. This is a blow out spray with seabuckthorn berry.  It leaves my hair looking fabulous. Full-Size $48

My favorite part of my Birchbox is this Beauty Crop GRLPWR lips liquid lipstick.

The color is Imma Bawse.  Kind of a orange-red. I love this because it dries matte and stays on forever. Check out the colors here: The Beauty Crop Full-Size $14.95.

Stay blessed,

Birchbox-March 2017

March was Women’s History month, so the box was dedicated to that theme. The box is called Pretty Mighty.

Birchbox describes the box as dainty looking but filled with powerful, high-performing products for powerful women. Let’s look inside.

1. Arrow Enhance Waterproof eye brightener (Full-size $16)

Swipe the pink-liner along the inner corners and waterline for brighter looking eyes

2. Beauty Protector (Full-size $23.50)

Protects hair against heat damage. I’ve used this before and it does a great job.

3. Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real! Double the Lip (Full-size $20)

This product is unique. The top is the lip liner and the bottom is the lipstick. It’s also long-lasting and has a slight tart cherry scent. The color is Lusty Rose.

4. Paula’s Choice RESIST Anti-aging eye cream (Full-size $33)

I’ll add this to my collection of eye creams Between Birchbox and Ipsy, I get an eye-cream every month.

5. Real Chemistry Fresh Start Foaming cleanser (Full-size $24)

Foamy lather and has a grapefruit scent. Seems like a perfect combo. Can’t wait to try this cleanser.

Bonus products:

R + Co Dallas Thickening shampoo and conditioner samples. (Full-size $25)

Birchbox & Ipsy Bag Reviews-October 2016 (Late)

This month’s review is super late. My Birchbox got lost in the mail, and I didn’t realize I hadn’t received it for two weeks. I had to contact customer service and get a new box sent. Everything worked out and customer service was excellent. So here’s a quick review.

*Death Valley dry shampoo. Full-size $17-$29

*Cynthia Rowley black eyeliner. Full-size $16

*Dr. Brandt Pores No More. Full-size $36

*Marcelle Xtension Plus Curl mascara. Full-size $14

*Real Chemistry 3-minute peel. Full-size $48

This month’s Birchbox is very basic and not in a bad way. These are great items that I use and enjoy when I receive them. So, it’s great to get them again. Also, I only pay $10 a month for my Birchbox and $10 for my Ipsy bag. Great value.

The October Ipsy bag is so darn cute. It’s pink which has replaced red as my new favorite color. The witch. The black cat. The fangs. Oh, how I love it. Ipsy has really had some amazing bags this year.

Here’s the promo card that came with the bag. Adorable and spooky. As you can see, I’m a big Halloween fan.

Inside the bag: a Balm sample of eyeshadow/blush. These samples are great to toss in your makeup bag or keep at work for those days you wake up late and need to do your makeup on the fly. I also received this pink Lottie London eyeshadow brush. You can never have too many eyeshadow brushes.

I received yet another felt black eyeliner. I just can’t make these work, and I want to do winged eyes so badly. If anyone has any tips, please let me know.

Sally’s Box Aqua Moist gel cream is a serum loaded with aloe vera and chamomile. It feels amazing on my face.

Check out the case of this Teeez Cosmetics lipstick. I’m speechless. Gorgeous. Fabulous. I…I…love it!!!

And the color is so pretty. The texture is creamy. The scent is yummy. It’s just perfect. The packaging is so stunning that I had to find the company on the internet. Here’s the link Teeez Cosmetics. Click at your own risk.

Now, I’ve got to go play with my makeup.

Stay Blessed,

Birchbox Review-September 2016

September is my birthday month and my Birchbox looks like a celebration. It’s bright, fun and brings a smile to your face.

I’ve received Davine’s hair products before and they work well on my hair. This month, I received a trial bottle of melon-scented MOMO shampoo and a packet of restorative conditioner. Full-size=$26

I’ve used Oribe hair products and like them, but I’ve never tried their  body products. I can’t wait to try out these Cote d’Azur packets of body wash and body lotion.                      Full-size =$42-$65

I’m drawn to fruit-scented perfumes. Aromachology’s Totally Edible roll-on scent is a blend of raspberry, orange, lemon, and vanilla. This perfume is slightly spicy making it perfect for the fall. Full-size=$70

Yeah! A face serum from The Body Shop. I’ve been a Body Shop fan for years. I’m running low on face serum so this arrived just in time. Nutriganics Drops of Youth  Concentrate uses plant stems cells for younger-looking skin. Full-size=$38

Milk Makeup’s Ubame Mascara is a unique formula that has charcoal and sapphire dust in it. This gives the mascara a smoky dark color. Full-size=$24

Another one of my favorite brands is Derma E. I’ve used this Dead Sea Salt microdermabrasion scrub before and it not only sloughs off dry skin, but it moisturizes as well. Full-size=32.50

Another great Birchbox for me. Just a reminder that Birchbox is a monthly makeup subscription service. For $10 a month, you get at least five sample or full-size items. If you’re interested in checking it out, click here Birchbox.

August Birchbox Review

For the month of August, Birchbox spruces up their look with a mosaic box featuring a myriad of colors and patterns. I have a nice collection of these boxes now. I use them to store knick knacks or for decoration.

The price for a Birchbox monthly subscription is ten bucks. You get five sample or full-size items. If you like them, you can purchase them online at and there’s usually a discount.

This BioRepublic aloe vera and Vitamin E mask is perfect for this time of the year. I was surprised by how soft and supple the mask left my skin feeling. Full-size $14.95.

I was excited to try this Davroe moisture senses shampoo and conditioner. It has olive leaf extracts and protects color treated hair. I really liked the shampoo because it had lots of lather and left my hair filling soft and clean. Full-size $29

Benefit Cosmetics is a fabulous line, so I’ll definitely give this eyebrow pencil a try. If it’s anything like Benefit’s mascara, it’ll be a keeper.  Full-size $24

Beauty Protector Hair oil. I have dry hair, so hair oil is always a welcome treat. I’ve gotten some good ones in my Birchboxes. This oil has argan oil in it and smells sweet like vanilla sugar. Full-size is $28.

This is a sample from Manna Kadar Cosmetics  Day Dream Palette. I received a sample of the highlighter and bronzer dual. The colors are pretty and the product feels silky and smooth. I’m loving it.  Full-size palette costs $25.

I received five great items this month. Not bad for ten bucks. Do you subscribe to Birchbox? If so, let me know in the comments. By the way, I’ve got a product/makeup organizing post  coming soon. I’ll show what I do with all the samples I get from my subscription boxes.

Stay Blessed,
