If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! That’s my mantra when it comes to foundation. I used the same foundation for more than a decade. For the last couple of years, I’ve been looking for a replacement. Then Fenty came into my life with its 50 shades of foundations!
Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation. This foundation is magic. I have a neutral undertone that’s often overlooked by other beauty lines. Fenty has several shades that match perfectly. Oh Yeah!
The foundation is matte and stays on all day. During application, you can build it from medium to full coverage. It gives my skin a stunning glow. I also love the packaging. The glass bottle gives the foundation a touch of elegance.
Recently, Fenty debut a new foundation formula. The Pro Filt’r Hydrating Longwear Foundation targets dry skin or anyone who doesn’t want a matte finish. I have dry skin, so I tried the new formula.
BIG MISTAKE! It comes in a cheap-looking tube. The formula feels light which I guess is good, but it’s hard to build up layers. The moisturizing formula disappears throughout the day. It’s more of a BB cream without the health benefits.
Both the matte and moisturizing formulas retail for $35. I’m switching back to the original formula. However, if I wasn’t on it a budget, I would buy the moisturizing formulas for the weekends.
Stay blessed,
Barbie
I don’t get on well with the Fenty matte foundation unfortunately- my skin is too dry and I like a dewy finish. Though I think it looks amazing on a lot of people. However I also agree with you on the hydrating version, it doesn’t build well! I also found it separates a bit. I love everything else from Fenty though. The new hydrating primer is amazing! Xx

Josie Moran’s Argan oil does wonders for extra dry skin. I think I’m going to try the hydrating primer.
