Marshalls & Home Goods: Guess What I Found?

I stopped by a Marshalls & HomeGoods store that’s in a high traffic mall area. The Marshalls is upstairs and the HomeGoods is downstairs. I hate the layout because you have to pay for your purchases before going into the other store. Anyway, I started my shopping experience in HomeGoods.

Yummy. Non-alcoholic Kahlua coffee. The smell alone is a dream and the taste… just delicious. $5.99 for a 12 oz bag.

Bedford’s ginger beer. I drink these alone or use them for Moscow Mules. $3.99 for a 4-pack.

sam_6536

This big jar of stuffed olives for $3.99. I love getting pickles, olives and other snacks at HomeGoods.

Bart and Judy’s The Best Chocolate Chip Cookies in the World. I got these in the light mint flavor. 132 calories for 11 cookies. The 4.2 oz box was $2.99. They are made with Belgian chocolate and fresh creamery butter. You can buy the cookies here Bart’s Bakery

I never show this in my hauls, but I always pick up dog treats for my Zoe. HomeGoods has quality snacks at low prices. These two were $2.99 each.

I headed over to the candle aisle. When I opened this DW Home Discover Tranquility candle, I couldn’t stop smelling it. It’s a mixture of chamomile, sage, honey, and marigold. The glass is thick, rounded at the bottom, and tinted blue which matches my living room colors. Once I burn the candle, I’ll use the glass for some sort of DIY project. $6.99

I made my purchases at HomeGoods and tied my bags so there would be no misunderstandings by store security. You know how that goes. I took the elevator and rode up to Marshalls. (Ugh! Who thought this was a good idea.) As soon as the elevator opened, I rolled over to my favorite spot…hair and beauty products. My heart was racing. The last time I visited this location, the shelves had been brimming with products. But not this day. The shelves were nearly bare. Naked. It was Friday afternoon, and the joint had been raided. I began trembling. I’d never ever seen such a thing at Marshalls. Would I be able to salvage my shopping experience?

I searched high and low, but the only hair product worth buying was this lone tube of Shea Moisture Shea Butter Deep Treatment Masque with Sea Kelp and Argan oil. I grabbed it since it was only $5.99.

***Sidenote: I used the conditioner for an overnight deep conditioner, and it did a pretty good job.

I had to look hard, but I found Shea Moisture’s Sea Kelp & Pearl Protein Shea Butter soap and the Coconut and Hibiscus soap which smells amazing. $3.99 each. Now things were picking up.

sam_6580

I also found The Body Shop’s Mango soap which is one of my favorite scents. $1.99.

Then I saw this… hanging on a metal arm buying itself. It’s an eyeshadow brush from Real Techniques’ Brush Crush limited collection. The eyeshadow brush was one of the pieces from my collection.

Click here Brush Crush Collection for more on my obsession with this brush collection. The sad, lonely eyeshadow brush was just $3.00. So I took her home to be with her friends.

As many of you know, I love OPI nail polish but refuse to pay full price for it. So I always but it from Marshalls at the low price of $3.99. This popping hot pink color is called Koala Bear-y.

sam_6571

I found a couple of Ralph Lauren wash cloths and a hand towel for $3.00 each. Ralph Lauren towels and washcloths have the best absorbency. They wash well and last forever.

sam_6564

If you use vinyl shower curtain liners, I have a tip. Replace those vinyl liners with cloth ones. I was allergic to the vinyl liners for years and didn’t know it. I switched to water-repellent polyester liners, and I haven’t had a problem since.  This was on sale for $6.00. Just toss them in the washer when they get dirty. I love them.

Speaking of health, I recently started transitioning away from plastic containers to using glass containers. Plastic containers don’t last, stain easily, and can be unhealthy.  I hit the jackpot at Marshalls. These ran around $2.99 to $3.99 each. They’re also great for portion control.

In Marshalls, I found another DW Home Candle. It’s a lavender and chamomile mix that was done right. I don’t know why I never noticed these candles before. They’re only $6.99. Here’ s the website: DW Home Candles.

Lemon and sage are two of my favorite scents, so I had to buy this candle. The scent is invigorating and addictive. $6.99

Ooo I didn’t know there were so many yummy snacks available at Homegoods! I like drinking ginger beer plain often, too. 🙂 That first candle sounds absolutely wonderful! & that’s so cool that you found that lonely brush just waiting there for you!

I can find so much stuff at Marshalls, TJ Maxx, and Ross. They are all so great!! I didn’t know Homegoods was the same way though so I’ll have to pop on there next. 🙂
