It’s cold outside and there’s nothing like comfort food. Here’s a quick recipe that’s perfect for the season.
1 package of ground turkey or chicken
1 10 oz can of Rotel diced tomatoes with green chiles (use mild or hot )
1 14.5 oz can of diced tomatoes
1/2 cup of Chicken stock
Black olives to taste
1 medium green bell pepper
1 medium onion
Minced garlic to taste
2 tablespoons of tomato paste
3 tablespoons of Worchestshire sauce
A splash of red wine vinegar
A pinch of Chines Five Spice seasoning (contains cinnamon, star anise fennel, cloves, ginger, licorice, Szechuan peppercorn, and white pepper)
Rosemary, oregano, and basil
Red pepper flakes (go easy)
Mrs. Dash no-salt seasoning
Garlic powder
1 Bay leaf
Fresh ground
Chipotle salt or sea salt
Turmeric ( a little for its health benefits)
Fuscilli pasta
Cilantro
Parmesan-Ramano
Directions:
Brown the ground turkey in olive oil and then add the bell peppers, minced garlic, and onion. Season the mixture with the herbs, pepper, salt, and Mrs. Dash Seasoning. Now add the diced tomatoes, black olives, garlic powder, turmeric, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, Chinese Five spice, red wine vinegar, sugar, chicken stock, and a bay leaf. Stir and let the sauce simmer for ten minutes. I do a taste test and add some pepper flakes and any other seasoning it might need.
Mix in the prepared fusilli, add parmesan romano cheese and cilantro. Dig in!
Stay blessed,
Barbie
Love it!
