Jane Carter’s Curls to Go Curl Cocktail Cream: Does It Work?

In the past two months that I’ve been natural, I’ve accumulated a lot of products. I’m testing products and formulas to see what my hair likes. This week, I’m putting Jane Carter’s Curls Cocktail styler to the test. I need for it to define my curls, moisturize, and hold the curls for at least three days.

I washed my hair with Eden Body Works’ Hibiscus and Honey Curl Hydration Shampoo. My hair loves honey, and this shampoo leaves it soft and moisturized. $9 at Sally’s.

I deep condition my hair at least once a week. This week I used Pure Oils Deep Treatment Masque with Eucalyptus and Honey. This masque has banana in it. Smells amazing. Right now, it’s my top deep conditioner. $7.29 at Sally’s.

I detangle my hair with the deep conditioner in it. I use this comb, and it takes about 15 seconds since my hair is so short.

I used this Pure Oils Leave-In Moisturizer after I rinsed out my deep conditioner. The leave-in has passionfruit and honey in it. However, it’s so thick that it should be in a jar. I have to take the top off and shake really hard to get the moisturizer out. $7.29 at Sally’s.

Next, I applied the Curl Cocktail throughout my hair and let dry. It was beautiful results. (I don’t know what happened to the pictures I took.) However, the next day my hair just wasn’t right. So I wet my hair again, and saturated every strand with the styling cream, basically using way too much. It took forever to dry. I generally let my hair air dry about 75% and finish it up by diffusing. It took hours.

In the end, I absolutely loved the results. Sorry, I’m using my camera phone and the pictures aren’t that good. My curls were defined, soft, and just plain gorgeous.

I sprayed on my Curls to Go Shine On Curl Elixir which is fabulous. You can get it discounted for about six bucks at Marshall’s. Keep this stuff in your hair inventory.

The next day I attempted to revive my hair with the Jane Carter Quench Curl Hydrator. I’m not the biggest fan of this product.

So I had to use my favorite refresher to date: The Mane Choice Tropical Moringa Restorative Spray. This spray costs around $14. I’ve never seen it on sale except at Sally’s. I would suggest buying the more expensive hair products at Sally’s because you can return the product if it doesn’t work for you.

The Jane Carter Curls to Go Curl Cocktail worked for me. However, I’m concerned about how much product I had to use to get the hold I wanted.

Next…I’ll try out the Jane Carter Curls to Go Coiling All Curls Elongating Gel. The gel should give me a great hold, but will it moisturize my hair? We’ll see.

Stay blessed,

Barbie
