This dish can be a whole meal or served as a side. It takes five minutes of prep time, and it’s cheap. It’s perfect for someone with a busy lifestyle looking to stay on a budget.
Ingredients:
1 or 2 smoked turkey wings
1 package of Kale greens
1 package of Mustard greens. (I always wash all my greens with vinegar and water.)
1 small diced onion
4 cloves of garlic
A dash of liquid smoke (optional and to taste)
1 to 2 packets of Goya seasoning
Seasoning salt
Fresh Ground Black pepper
1 to 2 tablespoons of butter
1 to 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar
Instructions:
Put the greens, smoked turkey wings, and all the ingredients in the slow cooker. Add enough water to cover the greens and cook on low about 4 to 6 hours. It’s done when the turkey meat falls off the bones.
My grandfather loved to have diced tomatoes and onions on top of his greens. I used to cut them up for him all the time, and now I do the same for myself. Splash some Frank’s Red Hot sauce on top. Deeelicous!
Stay blessed,
Barbie
