In this installment of my Pinching Pennies series, I’ll tell you how I stay well-stocked with my favorite body products.
I buy a lot of all natural products as well as Bath and Body Works’ shower gels, lotions, and body sprays. It can get expensive, so I’ve learned how to cut corners. One of my favorite places to shop is Ollie’s Bargain Outlet store. If you don’t have an Ollie’s, Big Lots has great deals as well.
I’m a big fan of Oil of Olay body washes. In fact, I like them better than Bath & Body Works’ shower gels. They’re moisturizing and the scents are amazing. I bought these huge 23.6 fluid ounce bottles for $3.50 a piece which is half of what they normally cost.
I also picked up a couple of packets of Oil of Olay facial towelettes for $1.99. I usually pay five or six bucks a pack.
I like to keep Dial antibacterial soap in the shower to use in conjunction with my natural soaps. I have sensitive skin and several times a week, I like to clarify my skin with Dial. I got this 3-pack set for $1.39 each.
I came across this body lotion called The Healing Garden. It contains shea butter and Vitamin E. There are no dyes, no parabens, and no mineral oil. They were $1.89 for 8 ounces. I got orange blossom and eucalyptus and mint. The scents blew me away.
I take a lot of vitamins and supplements, so I was thrilled to find loads of name brands at discounted prices.
I usually buy this Schiff Glucosamine plus MSM online. It’s great for your joints. I normally pay $17 to $20, but it’s just $11 at Ollie’s.
St. Ives apricot scrub has been one of my favs for years. Generally, it costs five or six bucks at Walgreens or CVS. These were on sale for $2.99. Stock up time.
When I give gifts, I like to include a beauty bag. These are great because you can purchase full-size products for a fraction of the price. They make nice add-on gifts.
Also, October is Domestic Violence month. Shelters always need health, beauty, and body products.
