No it’s not pretty but this paste on my face may be the answer to a problem that plagues many of us. Do you spend a ton of money on skin cleansers? Looking for just the right one that won’t leave your face too dry or too oily? How about making your own? You probably already have the ingredients in your house.

You need two products.

Baking soda and Johnson’s baby wash. You can use any scent you want, but I love the honey apple.

You’ll need 1 cup of baking soda…

and around 1/2 a cup of honey apple baby wash.

Mix the two together. Baking soda has a lot of positive properties. It’s a natural,  antibacterial agent that clears up acne and soothes dry skin. Baby wash is gentle, smells great,  and adds foam. If you have really dry skin or just want to add a little oomph, try my secret ingredient.

I add a couple of squeezes of organic honey and whip it into the mixture.

You’ll end up with something that looks like this. You can add more baby wash if you want the cleanser thinner or add baking soda if you want it thicker.

I like my face wash to have the consistency of toothpaste. Now you dampen your face and slather it on.

The baking soda is a wonderful microdermabrasion treatment. It sloughs off dead skin, yet it’s gentle enough to use daily. The honey  apple baby wash smells yummy and provides the perfect amount of lather. The organic honey is an humectant that locks in moisture. Massage the cleanser in for a minute or two and rinse. Here are the results…
